Joshua Tree camping trip April 2012
"Better one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere."- Psalm 84:10
And better is one weekend in Joshua Tree National Park than a thousand in the city. Because the beauty and tranquility at Joshua Tree are unparalleled.
The desert is extreme. Friday night it was windy, and even snowed on the summits surrounding our campsite. By Sunday it was hot, even at sunrise.
But YAGS are extreme. So while some people had to bail, most of us (13) embraced the changing weather conditions. We even recruited a friendly creepy ranger to our campfire, our vibe was so magnetic.
Various members of the group climbed Ryan Mountain, Moosedog Tower and Quail Mountain. We ran, scrambled, hiked and enjoyed nature. Back at camp we sang campfire songs, ate s'mores (we ate very well the whole weekend) and drank fine beverage. If you missed it this time, the next YAGS camping trip will be late summer/this fall!
